WILL THE EMPLOYEE ALWAYS SEE A CLINICIAN FACE TO FACE?

A triage will always be carried out to access the extent of the condition and whether EIS intervention is clinically appropriate.

If it is deemed that physiotherapy is clinically appropriate for a musculoskeletal disorder the employee will always be sent for a face-to-face assessment. However, evidence demonstrates that for certain conditions self-management can be as effective as face-to-face physiotherapy and often more effective and convenient for the patient.

Therapy for psychological problems will always be telephone based.
